Ambitious 3CF aim to build up new clientele

Fast growing Worcestershire fuel suppliers Three Counties Fuel (3CF) have teamed up with building supplies giant Travis Perkins (TP) to offer 3CF fuel cards to their trade customers as part of the launch of the new iflo bathroom brand.

3CF, who are based at Ball Mill Top Business Park, near Worcester, are one of only three companies selected for TP’s high profile iflo bathroom campaign, which will be launched tomorrow (May 4).

Details of an exclusive offer on fuel cards, initially targeting plumbers and bathroom fitters, will be featured in the new iflo catalogue to be distributed across their nationwide branch network and at www.iflo.co.uk

Pauline Newcombe, 3CF managing director, said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen for this promotion alongside T-Mobile and MOO online printing.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us because Travis Perkins’ customers are our perfect clients.

“Our experienced customer services team, who handle upward of 8,000 calls a month, can’t wait to get started.

“We are really excited about this campaign as this unique offer for TP customers will help them manage their fuel purchases and save them time and money,” Ms Newcombe added.

Founded in 2009, 3CF are one of the UK’s biggest fuel card resellers and their major clients include Interlink Express. They also distribute bulk fuel and home heating oil and offer an asset management service to small businesses.

Thriving Worcestershire company hook up with Interlink Express

Worcestershire company Three Counties Fuel (3CF) showed they are really going places by clinching their biggest deal yet - supplying fuel cards to delivery giants Interlink Express.

3CF, who have just moved into larger offices in Hallow, near Worcester, are currently distributing cards to Interlink's 82 franchisees all over the country.

Managing Director Pauline Newcombe said: "We're delighted with this deal, especially as we've only been in business since July 2009."

"As most Interlink franchisees have around eight to ten vehicles, that's a lot of fuel cards."

Alongside the Interlink contract, 3CF currently have 200 fuel card customers and are turning over 100,000 litres per week.

Pauline has used ten years' oil industry experience plus business development and project management know-how to put 3CF firmly on the fuel resellers' map.

She said: "Setting up a business in the middle of a recession was a gamble, but I never doubted that we'd succeed and we're also grateful to the market for welcoming us."

"We're proud of being independent, and of the excellent customer service we provide associated with that, but we're partnered by Fleetcor, a world leader in the fuel card business, so our clients get the best of both worlds."

"We also distribute bulk fuel nationally and locally. Our clients include independent garages, large private companies and householders."

Sharing Pauline's vision are Finance Director Neil Sysum, Sales Manager James Hall and sales team members Scott Hackett and Nicki Sysum. Both James and Scott had worked with Pauline previously.

"When I set up the business I got in touch with some old contacts and one gave me 11 referrals," she recalled.

"Then it was just a matter of knocking on doors and hitting the phone."

"I'm thrilled by where we are now after less than 18 months in business. In a year's time, we'd like to have our own depot with fuel storage and tankers," Pauline added.

PRESS RELEASE

THREE Counties Fuel are now bringing 20 years of experience to home heating.

The friendly Worcestershire-based firm have made a seamless move into the market to serve a greater range of customers, from thriving farms and second home owners to elderly people living in isolated locations.

Flexibility, excellent contacts and first class customer service are among TCF’s key strengths.

Based at Top Barn Business Centre, near Worcester, the company can arrange delivery of heating oil from five depots across the UK. They cover a large area stretching from south Birmingham to Taunton in the South West and including most of Wales.

TCF offer payment plans to spread the cost of rural home heating bills throughout the year and provide that personal, reassuring touch which major oil distributors sometimes lack.

There’s also flexibility on delivery times. Fuel is usually supplied to homes within two to three days, but more urgent requests can also be handled without hassle or headaches. The minimum delivery available is 500 litres.

TCF was set up in 2009 by Pauline Newcombe, who has 10 years experience in the petroleum industry, both with an oil major and a national distributor. She is also a member of the Petroleum Distributors Intelligence Unit (PDIU).

Pauline said: “I’m really excited about adding home heating to our range of services, which also include fuel cards and distribution to garages and large private companies.

“It’s a natural step forward for myself and my team of consultants, as we can use our years of experience in wholesale commercial bulk supply to get the best price for our new home heating customers.

“The beauty of our link with WhichOilSupplier is that customers can place an order at any time of the day, rather than have to make a phone call during normal working hours,” added Pauline.
